Berthon Apprenticeships – The Selection Process

June 30, 2017

Berthon has been synonymous with yacht building and repairs since 1877. These days, the Berthon Shipyard completes successful construction, refit, repair and maintenance projects in both the commercial boat and leisure yachting sectors, achieving the highest industry standards. Berthon’s apprenticeship scheme has been established for more than 100 years and many of today’s workforce have been with Berthon for their entire careers. In 2012 Berthon won the National Apprenticeship Awards and in 2016 Berthon also won the IBI International Boat Builder Award for its apprenticeship programme.

Apprentices enjoy access to superb modern facilities and engineering technologies, as well as working with people within the business who have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience. There can be few better places in the UK to learn a marine trade.

We are proud to offer apprenticeships for the following disciplines in 2017 with ten applicants already chosen to start later this summer – however, next year we’ll be taking on more:

  • Marine Engineer.
