This year Berthon published the Lifestyle Magazine XIII, contributed to, as always, by Berthon clients, friends and supporters. Articles ranged from cruising the Pacific in ‘Into the Deep Blue’, to the joys of cruising with canine friends in ‘Dogs on Board’, then back again in ‘The ICONIC Battersea Power Station’, and many others.
It is always our pleasure to receive feedback on these articles – if you ever feel the urge to wax lyrical on subjects we discuss, please do get in touch. email@example.com.
From owners of 7 year old Cocker Spaniel Archie –
We sail out of Largs, in our Malo 40, with Archie – our 7 year old Cocker Spaniel, who like Humphrey is a delight to have on board. He is also the LYH dog – known by all, as we live in Largs.
Normally he sails over 1000nm each year – so far, in 2017, he’s been South to Howth, in a 23 hour “overnight” with Hilary and myself in May, then North to the Outer Hebrides in July, and hopefully a few days in the Clyde to close the season out.
A big advantage we have is that he “pees and poos” on the foredeck so no need for regular shore trips – we can stay at anchor for days without a problem, also he knows when we get up early it’s prudent to do his business before the anchor comes up as it’s going to be a long sail catching the tide.
You may asked how we trained him, we just persevered sitting at anchor in Millport Bay when he was a pup and refused to go ashore, he gave in first, and been plain sailing ever since!’
We think Archie looks like a VERY good boy! We’re very fond of four legged friends at Berthon HQ. If you’ve got a tale of a seafaring pup, a courageous cat, or a flotation device wearing hamster, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for a possible feature.
Fair winds and good sailing.
