BRISTOLIAN in the Cetlic Sea

August 18, 2015

High spirits for the night watch onboard Bristolian

Spirits are high after a fine chicken curry for dinner – but the light conditions are not suiting Bristolian. Much of the fleet they passed earlier in the race are now sailing faster than her off the Lizard in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The crew are still hoping for some stronger breeze!! Lots of boats to catch again!

There is enough breeze to get this big girl heeled The Crew talking Tactics for when the wind fills in

The wind is finally filling in at the Scilly Isles and Bristolian is now making nearly 7 knots towards the Fastnet Rock. The crew realise there is a lot of work to do overtaking all the small boats that passed us in the previous 24 hrs. The wind should now back to SW and increase to 20kts when our greater waterline length will start to pay dividends.
