Some of you may have read David Balme’s obituary in Monday 4th January’s Daily Telegraph. For those that missed it, follow this link:
He was a long standing berth holder at Berthon, having been here for 40 years with his yacht Hephzibah. David was a true gentleman, always great fun and full of life, and delightful company to all that knew him. To reach the grand old age of 95 after his heroic war and a life in the wool trade must be down to his twin hobbies of sailing his yacht and riding with the Buckhounds. He will be much missed by us all at Berthon.
Lieutenant Commander David Balme – born October 1st 1920, died January 3rd 2016
