February 3, 2017

The Düsseldorf Boat Show is Europe’s largest yachting industry exhibition, with 17 halls including one housing a manmade lake for wakeboarding and other watery activities. In fact the show boasts over 2 million square feet of exhibition space, so it’s no wonder it’s one of the primary events in the yachting calendar.

This year’s show certainly lived up to the hype and Berthon’s Ben Toogood and Bruno Kairet were busy all show on the Windy Stand…

There was significant interest in the entire range on display, but particularly the 46 Chinook, 39 Camira, 31 Zonda, and 29 Coho

Our French office sold one of the last 31 Zondas available from the factory for delivery for the 2017 season, and there were some very constructive meetings with the Windy team about new projects, including the 38 Alizé as well as the SR 43 Blackbird. Windy’s previous model, the SR 52 Blackbird has always proved popular, so we’re particularly excited about the birth of her slightly smaller sister!

It was great to see so many British visitors on the Windy stand this year. The 39 Camira was one of our show-stoppers with her new digital switching upgrade on display, as well as her new streamlined wet bar…

All in all it was a great show with plenty of positive signs of a good year ahead for the industry. Increasingly savvy purchasers are demanding greater diversity within both new yacht sales and the secondhand market which, along with innovation in yacht design being at an all-time high, is certainly keeping the industry on its toes and as competitive as ever.

Please save the date for next year (20th-28th January 2018) and be sure to visit this epic event.
