Having to sell Adastra is breaking my heart, as she is like a faithful Labrador, always pleased to see you and never lets you down.
I’m selling because of a family illness, which means I am now unable to use her for the purpose for which she was designed and built – blue water sailing. The yacht was designed by Chuck Paine and everything about this design works exceptionally well. The internal layout and the salon pipe cot berths are practical for passage making. She has a well laid out and workable galley area to port and on the starboard side you have a very practical navigation area and the workshop space is also most useful.
She has taken me to cruises throughout the Mediterranean, a memorable time to the Azores, and to the Caribbean and back. She has done two Seasons in Scotland.
Unfortunately, I am one of those very boring people who is meticulous in the care of his toys! As a result, Adastra is in superb condition. Her engine has been serviced regularly, the sails are in very good condition, and the standing and running rigging were replaced four years ago. At the same time, I replaced the majority of the electrical motors, 100 meters of anchor cable whilst down below the lighting was replaced with LEDs. The B and G computer was upgraded last year.
I could go on but I’m sure you have got the message. I have been a meticulous owner and I am sure, that whoever buys her will be as well looked after by this yacht as I have been.
