Broker’s Comments

ALIÉNOR is not your normal Dufour 525. She has been well equipped for blue water sailing, and also been rethought from the bottom of the keel upwards to provide a strong, safe and comfortable ocean going yacht. On delivery, the yacht was then partially stripped and the deck fittings, keel bolt structure, and her specification were rethought and professionally upgraded. Due to the owners change of plans, she has only been used for coastal cruising and is professionally looked after and maintained and is completely ready for the next owner for blue water sailing, coastal cruising, or whatever you fancy. An absolute tardis of a yacht for a 50 footer!

Owner’s Comments

Having done a spreadsheet comparison on a number of boats around 50’, we bought Aliénor because she was clearly the best. Secondly, because we were so impressed by the build quality and sailing performance when we did the test sail in La Rochelle. Thirdly, because we could see that we could easily sail her two-up.

Our original intention was to do some long distance cruising, but 2008 put an end to all that! Even so, she has been a fabulous boat to cruise the Channel and Brittany and was perfect for the Western Isles.

We are only selling because we need a boat with a shallower draft for the East Coast.
