The iconic English powerboat.
“Liberty of Lymington”, formerly also known as “Peri”, and “Blue Haze” for a time, and has (as is usual with Fairey Marine) a varied and exciting past – see below!
“The Huntress and the Huntsman’s claim to fame were in the James Bond movie “From Russia With Love” This involved a total of five boats: two Huntsman 28s, one long-cabin Huntress (“Liberty”) and two normal huntresses. Bond was in a Huntress!
“Liberty” was re-engined in 2015 with a brand new FPT 250 electronically-managed diesel, and installed by Mermaid Marine (£25,000). With her new engine she has a top speed of 30 knots and easily does 25 knots.
In recent years ridiculous amounts have been spent on her – including repainting inside and out, new engine, new propeller, new cockpit canopy, tonneau and cabin covers. She also has a new road trailer which is essential to keeping her well maintained.”
