EAGER was built as LUTINE, she was #1 of the now famous Nicholson 55 sisterhood. Shipped to Rutherfords in the USA in 2008, she began a journey of total rebuild and renewal of which you can read more below. She is a successful marriage of the best of British design and yacht building in the 1970s, with the finest 21st century technology and know-how, coupled with great craftsmanship from Rutherfords. She subsequently enjoyed a cruising programme in Hong Kong and cruised to Phuket. During this period, she was skipper maintained and upgraded for family sailing including an upgrade of her communications and entertainment, a rework of her electrical system, new sails and much more. On arrival at our Shipyard in Lymington after shipping from Asia, her owner commissioned a full condition survey to establish her condition. The yacht flew through the survey albeit with some small operational and cosmetic issues highlighted. Her owner wishes to pass her onto her new owner in the best possible condition and hence these have been dealt with. The survey is available on request.

Owning a Nicholson 55 had been a childhood dream, but to have one that had been completely re-built by a very experienced yachtsman was quite extraordinary. Every time I go onboard I have a feeling of awe and affection for an amazing, historic yacht. She instils a sense of responsibility to look after her to the highest level and ensure that this sense is shared by any future owner. She has an honest feel about her, something which is wonderfully apparent in heavy seas. She powers through the water in an easy motion, providing fast and secure passage making.
EAGER was a wonderful yacht for Hong Kong. Perfect for weekend cruising, under constant attention of a full time skipper and mate. It was a magical time and one that I will always cherish. With more pressing priorities at the moment, and with great sadness, I am looking to sell EAGER to someone who would share the same passion for such a beautiful and unique yacht.
