360° excavator operator

360° excavator operator required with recent previous experience of 20+ ton class machines for working in a marine tidal dredging operation as part of a team from October to March. Responsibilities will include the day to day maintenance of the machine and it’s floating platform which will include operating a small tender for remote access in a large river environment. Some familiarity with heavy workboat operations would be an advantage. Winter tidal operations will require an ability to accommodate variable working hours. Specific waterborne role training will be given where required.’

(*A current CPCS (or NPORS/CSCS card) would be useful but necessary if proof of previous ability by reference is available.  CV useful.)

Marine Electrical/ Electronics Engineer

Due to expansion and increasing demand for our high quality services, Berthon has immediate positions available for experienced Marine Electrical/ Electronic Engineers to join our highly skilled team on major refit and marina based projects.

Knowledge and skills

You must be Apprenticeship time served and have the following attributes:

  • Experienced in marine electronic installations and service support of market leaders including
    • Raymarine – the world leader in marine electronics for recreational boating and light commercial marine markets
    • Garmin – bringing GPS navigation and wearable technology to the automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor and fitness markets
    • Navico – a specialist marine electronics company providing navigation, marine instruments and fish finding equipment to both the recreational and commercial marine sectors. Brands include B&G, Simrad and Lowrance
    • Furuno
    • Victron
    • Mastervolt
  • Excellent diagnostic skills with the ability to work to exacting standards
  • In depth knowledge of Marine electrical DC and AC systems.
  • Candidates must be self-starters, motivated, reliable, have a good eye for detail and proven track record in the leisure or commercial marine industry.

Main Duties and responsibilities

  • A wide range of electronic and electrical installations, repairs and upgrades.
  • Fault diagnosis on a range of engine electronic management systems, navigation systems and battery monitoring systems.
  • Commissioning, dock side trials, sea trials and collection & delivery trips.
  • Able to work on own initiative to provide off-site support to commercial customers.
  • A wide range of instrument and wiring upgrades.
  • Working in a team with all trades to produce a quality product to budget and on time.
