As well as achieving the above Berthon is pleased to announce that it has at the same time transitioned to ISO9001:2015 the new quality management standard. Berthon’s quality management system is built on the seven quality management principles of customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, continuous improvement, evidence-based decision making and relationship management.
Yard Manager, Keith Longman in charge of Berthon’s IMS (integrated management system) says – “It is our vision to be regarded by boat owners as the best marina and boatyard in the UK for boat building, refitting & servicing and recognised by the wider community as a company that respects and cares for the environment; as a result we meet very high standards of quality and service that our customers demand and expect from us whilst at the same time conducting our activities in a manner that protects the environment and prevents pollution. Berthon’s multiple awards for its commitment to apprenticeships both within our own and our competitor businesses is another example of our dedication to improving customer retention whilst also addressing the wider marine industry skills gap.”
ISO14001:2015 and ISO9001:2015 certification provides confidence to interested parties as to the consistency, effectiveness and efficiency of Berthon’s approach and increased credibility and competitiveness in the market.
