FPB and GREY WOLF hold a place close to the heart of Berthon. Owners Peter and Judith Watson bought FPB 64 GREY WOLF via Berthon. Peter then brought her home under her own power from the build yard in Whangarei, North Island in New Zealand. Dubbed ‘the Long Voyage Home’, this was an incredible adventure. Peter has always been very generous and offered a berth on board to four Berthon apprentices for each leg of the voyage. For more information on ‘The Long Voyage Home’ follow the link below.
Jack Gunstone-Smith, one of the lucky Berthon apprentices given the opportunity to sail with Peter on the Whangarei to Tahiti leg of the Long Voyage Home, handcrafted a half model of FPB 78 #2 GREY WOLF II. It is a thank you for the opportunity to be part of what was a trip of a lifetime.
FPB 78#2 GREY WOLF II was handed over in New Zealand in April and we were there to see her coming together and doing trials. She has very recently completed her maiden voyage. GREY WOLF II predecessor – FPB 64 LOUP GRIS (ex. GREY WOLF) currently lies ashore at Berthon’s Lymington HQ and is currently available for purchase.
Berthon would like to wish Peter, Judith and the FPB team all the best in their future adventures with GREY WOLF II.
