A few images from the very slow start
We get an update from John Burnie on the first 24 hours of the Fastnet onboard BRISTIOLIAN as they past offshore from Plymouth with very little breeze.
A very slow race so far and with Bristolian at 70 tons she is suffering in the light airs. We are in a very competitive class with all other boats light.
But crew morale high with great meals like lasagne with garlic bread. We do not expect any wind for at least 24 hrs – we hope to pick up some places on the way back from the Fastnet Rock – wind is forecast to be 20+ upwind which is our best point of sailing.
Position Update – Lat/Lon: 49° 58.15 N, 004° 40.30 W
Speed – 6.1 knots – 255th in IRC OVerall – 12th in IRC Z
no glass ceiling on board Bristolian – Looking for breeze at the nav station
