Last week we brought you part 3 in our series of videos of the interior restoration of the famous World War 2 1942 Motor Gunboat MGB 81. This week we are pleased to bring you part 4 where we will be fitting the Bunk Structure & Webs. A couple of months ago we also produced 2 videos in which the 3 MAN 835hp engines were lifted and removed in order to make way for 3 new, Mermaid Marine supplied, FPT C13 825hp diesel engines. These will more reliable, fuel efficient, and lighter. In case you missed it you can read the article and watch the videos here.
The aim is to complete the restoration and carry out trials in mid-2018, after which she will be on show at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard along with other renowned historical vessels together with HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose.
