The Windy SR43 Blackhawk takes much of her style from the SR52 Blackbird, which has proved phenomenally successful for the Scandinavian builder, with in excess of twenty examples delivered and a number of projects already in build for 2019. These yachts have been delivered as superyacht tenders, chase boats and as luxury day boats.
The DNA of Windy is very much focused on their Scandinavian “boat building” heritage and this clearly defined ethos is truly reflected in the quality of the yachts produced and their superior ability on the water. The SR43 will certainly be no exception.
The SR43 is also the result of a collaboration between respected names in the yachting industry, including Dubois Naval Architects, Design Unlimited, the Windy design team and the renowned Norwegian Naval Architect Hans Jorgen Johnsen.
The Blackhawk will offer a refreshing drivers alternative to other deck boats, with blistering 45kt top speed performance and a choice of outdrive, IPS or outboards.
Windy anticipate a cruising range over 300nm (D6-400) with the possibility of a long distance version in the future.
She also offers an impeccable deep-v hull form with a soft, dry and confident inspiring ride.
The expansive and social deck layout, make the SR43 Blackhawk ideal for entertaining family and friends, or for chauffeuring guests to and from superyachts in comfort and at speed.
The design will include a generous sun pad forward and safe walk around side decks leading back to the main central cockpit. Here you have a large social u-shaped seating area and spacious aft sun pad, which lifts up to reveal a cleverly hidden tender garage. The wet bar is well appointed and can be specified with icemaker, wine cooler, BBQ or teppanyaki. For added convenience, hydraulic gangways and platforms can also be ordered.
The helm benefits from the latest Volvo Penta glass cockpit system, which offers all operator information via a single interface. The system can also be combined with the Joystick docking system, Joystick driving and the DPS (station hold for IPS). As with the SR52 the helm with benefit from clear commanding views and superb ergonomics.
The interior will offer a luxurious feel with accommodation for four and spacious heads/shower compartment, which can be air-conditioned for family adventures. The SR43 can also be used as an alternative base for additional crew, or when operating independently of the mothership.
A full custom programme is available on request, including high windscreen configurations of the hard top roof, full colour schemes in lacquer, towing eyes etc…
