Having popped down to Las Palmas to wish ‘bon voyage’ to the ARC + fleet earlier this month, we felt it only fair to jump on a plane again to see off the ARC fleet. The docks were much busier this week, given the larger size of the fleet, and there was the usual buzz surrounding activities, victualling and last minute jobs.
With over 200 yachts spread over a pretty large marina, Berthon brokers Alan Mcilroy and Sophie Higgs put in a whopping 50,769 steps (23.27 miles) in just 3 days. Add to this a combination of mandatory flip flops (when in Rome…) and 23 degrees of heat, we hope that their presence was an aid to clients both new and old.
Here at Berthon we very much specialise in the sale of offshore and blue water yachts, and through that process we spend a lot of time with our clients and get to know them quite well. It’s therefore really nice to catch up with so many clients at the beginning off the ARC, see their plans coming to fruition and to share in a little bit of ‘that’ excitement.
Berthon has been a corporate member of the World Cruising Club for over 10 years, and as well as popping down to Las Palmas (it’s a tough job but someone has to…!), we also run, in conjunction with the WCC, a Blue Water Weekend at our Lymington HQ (keep an eye out for dates late next year). A two day event with a host of seminars and on the water demonstrations.
