CNB 93 SAVARONA – Available to See and Touch in ‘Old Blighty’ this Winter

November 15, 2018

Originally built in 2001, in France, of aluminium to designs by Phillipe Cabon. CNB 93 SAVARONA is a fast and handsome yacht – she has a hydraulic lift keel, giving a draft of 7’6” with the keel up and a wonderful clear deck with excellent guest cockpit and a large and well-designed sailing cockpit aft.

Full set of particulars available here – [OFF MARKET]

Internally she has a great layout, with her owners’ stateroom forward and two generous double guest cabins. Aft of the mast is a superb, airy and spacious saloon with dining to port and relaxing to starboard.

The galley was built with the gourmet in mind and there is a full walk in engine room accessed from this. Aft is a big crew mess, Captain’s cabin and a further crew cabin and head. The crew have direct access to the sailing cockpit from their quarters.

The current owners immediately spotted her potential and purchased her 4 years ago. Through life, she has enjoyed refits in 2006 and 2010 but they could see that with sufficient investment she could be something very special.

In 2015, that potential was unlocked with the help of a US$1,500,000 refit, which saw the update, replacement and improvement of every inch of SAVARONA. Work carried out includes –

  • New teak decks.
  • New Paint on hull and superstructure.
  • New drive train.
  • New generators.
  • New plumbing.
  • New electrics.
  • New electronics.
  • New communications.
  • New galley equipment.
  • New AV.
  • Rebuilt of her carbon mast and current PBO rigging.
  • New centreboard.
  • New Doyle sails.
  • Rework of her Danet interior.
  • Jet rib and a rebuild of the transom to accommodate this.
  • New safety gear.
  • New hatches and deck hardware.

In addition to this, SAVARONA is now fully coded to MCA Category 2 and is a successful yacht on the charter circuit when not in use by the owners.

This is what they say about their yacht –

SAVARONA had a beautiful Atlantic crossing in 2017. She sailed 4,009 miles with an average speed of 9.2 knots (her owner now has over 8,000 miles on board her).

  • Went through a Force 9 Storm with winds of 43-47 knots and 35 foot seas – the yacht handled it easily, nothing broken.
  • Set a new speed record for the yacht – 24.0 knots surfing down a BIG wave, and four people joined the 20+ knot club.
  • Once we hit the Trade Winds we sailed 6 straight days from sun up to sun down on spinnaker alone – over 60 hours of kite flying.
  • Saw the Southern Cross constellation for the first time. Saw it every night once we got south of 19 N latitude.
  • Saw a huge Green Flash on the last night before we made landfall at Antigua.
  • Used our new Inmarsat C radio to send receive email from the middle of the ocean – works great.

She is also now fully Malta VAT paid.

She is overwintering in Plymouth in the West Country of the UK for 2018/19 and viewing can be easily arranged. She is fully crewed and is looking the business.

To add to her appeal there is a recent price drop to US$2,250,000.
