ANNKA was made flesh by Garcia in 2009 to lines drawn by Berret/Racoupeau for serious mile munching. Of aluminium, she is unbreakable and comes with a fantastic metallic grey hull livery, business like deck layout and power cutter headed rig with a self-tacking jib and a fully battened mainsail with a stack pack for control.
She has a protected cockpit with a fixed screen and twin wheels for great vision, and for you to enjoy the sailing – she is fast!
Her dinghy is stored on the aft deck and there is a crane for short handed deployment and a large transom step. Aft she has 2 enormous lazarettes which also house the washing machine.
Despite her muscular good looks and track record – in her first ownership she cruised extensively in the Pacific visiting Patagonia then onto New Zealand and has also cruised in the beautiful but chilly waters of Alaska – she is easy to handle. These owners cruise aboard her as a couple with their 2 small children as additional crew and they have found her to be very manageable with her bow and stern thruster and automation of winches and systems.
When you step below aboard ANNKA, you step into a light and airy space with light flooding in from the deck saloon windows and hull windows. The interior is executed in bold colours and is super modern. All the deckheads are white, with a black non-slip soleboard finish throughout. The veneers in the guest cabins are light wood and the upholstery is picked out in red and white – it looks terrific.
ANNKA has a machine room and work shop with a work area, room for tools and spares and a vice. This also offers access to the 27KvA Onan generator, pumps and chargers. The main engine, a Volvo D6 310hp, is found under the raised main saloon sole with fantastic access to all parts and sealed storage lockers outboard of it.
From forward she has a crew cabin with bunk, heads and basin/hand shower. The crew can share the head behind the water tight door which is for the port double guest cabin, if you are running her as a family yacht. To starboard is another double cabin with heads compartment that also has a door to the corridor leading to the galley so that this can be used as a day head.
The galley is the width of the yacht – masses of refrigeration, storage, dishwasher – the list is long.
Behind the large chart table aft of the main saloon is the passage to the owners’ stateroom. The main saloon has lounging to starboard and dining to port. The owners’ cabin has a gimballed berth, a heads compartment and a separate shower room/wet room – and office space.
