From 2012, and built at Southampton Yacht Services, the Oyster 72’ is perfectly proportioned and is absolutely the right size for either crossing oceans or cruising in total comfort. Known to Berthon, she overwintered here at the Shipyard both in 2013/14 & 2014/15; you may have seen her distinctive orange mast?
BILL AND ME’s owner appointed her skipper prior to delivery so that every detail of their personal specification was executed to the letter of their wishes. Gareth is very experienced, having previously worked for Oyster and having also run a number of other Oysters. He knows absolutely what makes these great yachts tick.
Conceived and built for family and friends to enjoy both sailing, exploring new places and also being on board the yacht, her specification is enormous.
She has cruised in the Caribbean, Norway and the Mediterranean and has been a total success in every respect. Gareth has had a free rein to ensure that she sparkles from truck to keel. Her cherry interior is warm and welcoming and she has a great layout.
Forward there is accommodation for her captain and separate cabin and heads for crew.
The galley is perfect for very serious cooking…
And her main saloon is spacious and light with ambient lighting at day’s end.
Aft is a VIP double… Upper and lower…
And a spectacular owner’s cabin aft.
The engineering is all accessed beneath the saloon floor and everything is easily seen and like the rest of BILL AND ME, it gleams.
Her furling rig is powered, so handling her is simple with a modest crew. She has flush hatches, acres of gleaming teak and a fabulous cockpit for entertaining with twin wheel for easy handling and good access to the cockpit and interior. Alfresco dining on deck is the business, but not always advised in our Northern Waters!
She has a powerful RIB and davits for handling. The dinghy can also be stowed on deck when mooring stern to.
BILL AND ME will be joining us here at the Shipyard this winter, and she has been priced to sell. Her owner has loved her, but plans to build a clockwork yacht for Mediterranean short hop cruising with plenty of room for grandchildren and toys for use on the beach…
Her rig may not be loved by all, so if orange is not your favourite colour and you have no ambitions to do high latitude, we will be happy to paint it a colour of your choice in our big blue sheds should you wish.
BILL AND ME is fully MCA coded for charter and is ready for blue water in 2016. She is magic carpet material of very superior hue. Please do contact us to make an appointment to view.
