22m Fast Patrol & Protection
The Berthon 22m Fast Patrol vessel has been developed as the next-generation fast patrol boat for naval, coast guard and police operations. The Advanced Planing Monohull (APM) hullform is a development of the proven hullform of the UK RNLI’s new Shannon Class Fast Lifeboat. The APM hullform is a double-chine, warped, planing hullform with a fine entry and high freeboard forward, and wide stern sections with high form stability.
In combination with the high deadrise angle amidships, the result is a soft riding craft with minimal slamming and deck wetting enabling a high speed to be maintained in higher sea states. The propulsion machinery options include the state of the art Volvo Penta Integrated Propulsion System (IPS) which combines high speed and excellent handling with high efficiency.
If a shallow draft is required then a twin waterjet installation is also an option, or shafts and propellers can provide a conventional propulsion package.

The Berthon 14m Coastal Patrol Vessel incorporates the hull designs of Peter Eyre; the Naval Architect responsible for the RNLI’s highly acclaimed Shannon class all-weather lifeboat.
Designed for patrol, interdiction, force protection and command duties in all sea states. The vessel offers superior seakeeping ability with a platform that prevents slamming. High speeds can be sustained, even in adverse sea conditions.
Outstanding manoeuvrability is achieved with the use of twin waterjets, facilitating close contact surveillance and boarding operations when required.
