Berthon offers a full Winter Layup and Spring Commissioning service at our busy shipyard based in the West Solent in Lymington. We have over 100 qualified staff that undertake all aspects of yacht maintenance and refit, with a growing apprenticeship programme.
You can read more about “putting a yacht to be – the art of a good decommissioning” that we undertake in the winter months for many clients. But in Spring the attention turns to returning these yachts to the water ready for the sailing season ahead, commissioning all the services onboard these yachts, ensuring that engines have been de-winterised, plumbing systems connected, electrical systems will be woken from their winter slumber and batteries tested. Hulls will have a new coat of antifoul, with props and shafts clean or burnished, sail drives readied, trim tabs serviced, plus lots more.
We have all the services available on site to maintain and service yachts up to 90ft, our lifting facilities consist of a 20 tonne pillar crane and 75 tonne travel hoist, coupled with various types of yacht moving machinery, allowing us to make around 2,500 movements each year. So you know your yacht will be in very safe hands.
Our valeting team are also on hand to clean your yacht from top to bottom, inside and out if it’s just for a spring clean or a regular wash down.
