The Polar Ketch MAR Y POLES is the perfect vessel, built to “make your dreams come true”. She is capable of visiting the Arctic Ocean or Scandinavian waters with the perfect combination of safety and comfort.
The large comprehensive refit and the new ketch rigging transformed this classic yacht in to a worthy vessel for new daring and adventurous cruises, despite her age and history.
Featured Yacht – 75′ Polar Ketch (MAR Y POLES) – A YouTube Playlist:
Built in 1979 at the CCYD shipyards in Venice, this large Corten steel ketch has already a proven track in polar waters. Indoor wheelhouse, huge cockpit, living and kitchen area, card table, library, watch station, cherry closet… The 12 beds are divided into 6 cabins with plenty of storage, including a huge owner’s rear cabin with ensuite, 4 guest cabins and a double bunk cabin for the crew. The bridge is very “clean”, and the interior is very comfortable on a long cruise. On deck, the skipper cockpit at the aft, is separated from the “guest” cockpit. The ketch rig, installed in 2014, is managed with a very small crew.
After a few years of operating this large ketch dedicated to polar charter, we want to pass her on to devote ourselves to other projects. This long-haul sailboat, fully refitted between 2013-15 (18 months of construction), is very reliable and improved in every way, has 6 double cabins allowing to board 10 guests and two crew members in very good and comfortable conditions.
In recent years, the MAR Y POLES has provided complete seasons in the polar zones (Spitzberg, Norway, Greenland, Iceland as well as on the Antarctic continent). The yacht has been the subject of adjustments to take this environment into account, making her a yacht perfectly suited to these destinations. She will be the ideal support for your cruise or expedition activity, or your next big trip.
