The Azuree 46 is a beautifully designed and constructed performance cruising yacht from the board of the well-known father and son team of Humphreys Yacht design and yard of Azuree – a brand from Sirena Marine.
Sirena Marine was born in 2006 from an agreement with the world famous Azimut – Benetti Group and Kiraça Holdings to become a world-class yacht builder. To date they have produced 350 yachts at the state of the art facility in Bursa, close to Istanbul, Turkey.
The Azuree 46 is the flagship model of the range and combines excellent performance with contemporary living areas both internally and externally. This is an ideal boat for the ARC and an owner who wants fast comfortable performance cruising.
The moderately wide hull form is kept under control with twin rudders, and twin (carbon, naturally) wheel steering. This gives many largely unconsidered benefits such as reduced rudder draft for stern to mooring, built in redundancy for offshore sailing, walk through room in the cockpit and much more control at higher heeling angles.
There are many well thought out details on the Azuree 46, anchoring is a breeze, due to the integrated anchor roller in the bowsprit. The careful and precise engineering means no bobstay, the curse of bowsprit anchoring, which takes the load of the Code 0 with ease.
But the USP of the Azuree 46 (apart from the performance, good looks and build quality) must be the pure amount of living space and area.
Above deck, the vast cockpit can seat eight around the versatile table, in between meals the seating cleverly extends to become two very comfortable day beds with perfect backrests to enjoy while cruising (or racing if you wish I guess).
At the aft end of the yacht, an almost-full-width bathing platform is large enough for the whole family and to moor a reasonably large tender to.
Below decks, the nod towards modern living continues. The saloon converts into a daybed and uniquely a clever setup to convert the chart table into more social space with a coffee table.
ROSHNI is a very well equipped, bluewater spec Azuree 46 and is currently giving hours of fast and comfortable cruising to her present custodians.
Full spec includes windlass, bowthruster, custom hardtop bimini with integral solar panels and davits amongst others.
She is a very well looked after and a turnkey opportunity for a performance cruising, bluewater yacht.
We were looking for a performance cruiser/racer that was very comfortable but fast! The Azuree 46 fitted these criteria perfectly.
About 70% of our trip was two handed sailing, very self-sufficient with watermaker and four solar panels.
Great Mediterranean cruising with downward furler on asymmetric and code zero on pro furl making easy work of the light airs. From Portugal to Spain, Sardinia, then Balearics to Canaries via Gibraltar and Tangier’s in Morocco.
Fantastic Caribbean cruising from St Lucia, around St Vincent & Grenadines, Iles de Saintes, Guadalupe, Antigua and planning to sail up to Newport – Rhode Island.
She is a very safe yacht, a sail through Gibraltar straights, upwind in 40 knots and high seas reassured us on this early in the trip. 3-reefs and staysail, very well balanced. Used this set up a few times in 30 to 48 knots.
She is a fast yacht, crossed the Atlantic in just under 16 days. Averaged 8 knots, used the asymmetric a few times but mainly boomed out genoa on carbon whisker pole. The wide stern stopped the downwind rolling allowing us to use more sail area. Our friends on an X55 took 2 days longer due to the uncomfortable rolling!
More importantly, she is usually the prettiest yacht around; people are always taking photos and complimenting us about her!
