The Farr 520 is an iconic cruiser – racer. The Cruising version of the popular and successful Farr 52 one design. Her Carbon construction and Corecell / Balsa core gives both lightweight and incredible strength. Performance is the key word with these yachts, but below deck, the layout and finishing detail is a far cry from the Farr 52.
Linear galley and large wraparound saloon seating is a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Although not as plush as some cruising yachts, she is by no means Spartan, with a very simple and easy to look after environment.
Over the last year, GODSPEED has benefitted by a complete rewire, a full new navigation instrument package, and batteries. A full service of the engine and she is absolutely ready to go for the next owner.

I was ‘Chief Sailing Instructor’ for the BMW-SAIL-RACING-ACADMEY for years, together with Americas Cupper Roberto Ferrarese from Italian team Luna Rossa.
After I finished this work I ran my own sailing academy called GODSPEED SAIL RACING ACADEMY in Austria and did not only basic education on sailing, under the roof of the Austrian Sailing Federation, but also race sailing. We competed in very famous international races in the European summer time, such as ROLEX FASTNET RACE, ROLEX GIRAGLIA ST. TROPEZ, 1.000 Island Race and also the ARC in the racing group. We did the Caribbean races in the winter time, such as ROUND BARBADOS, CARIBBEAN 600, HEINEKEN CUP and ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK.
We achieved some 1st places and some podium places and business was increasing. So we decided to buy another yacht which was the FARR 520 PERFORMANCE. With this yacht we developed a concept to tour around the world with ONE-WAY-TURNS and also competed in the TRANSPAC, as well as in SYDNEY HOBART RACE.
Whilst all this was going on, I was working on a new patented sailing boat concept called V_REX. I started a collaboration with the Technical University of Graz and the Mediteranian Institute of Hydrodynamik in order to test my V_REX by CFD-Simulation, Wind-Channel-Tests and Finite-Elements- and Statical Calculations. Even Thomas Glaveriaux was collaborating with our students for dynamical loads on the foiles.
Anyhow, I found an investor this year (2019), we got support from the Austrian Government for innovative products and we will start in September to realize the V_REX concept. Prototyping will begin next year. I can not do both things and so I decided, to sell both offshore racers, keep the self running sailing school in Austria and concentrate on the V_REX.
