A stunning world cruising yacht from Garcia of aluminium, with her dark blue hull livery, she is a powerful mile muncher from the Jean Berrett and Oliver Racoupeau combination. She has a very practical layout for easy and fast short handed sailing. With 2 large guest cabins, owners’ stateroom aft and separate crew accommodation forward she is perfect for family yachting adventures. Her interior is ultra modern, with a light and airy feel which provides a great contrast to her more traditional outward appearance. She has been updated and improved by this owner who is only selling her as he and his family lack the time to use her to her potential.
ANNKA I has always made me and my family feel safe at sea, she is very well built and everything on deck and below is solid and doesn’t move or flex. She is easy to dock because of her hydraulic bow and stern thrusters. She has an extensive spares inventory which means that if there are breakages at sea, these can easy be rectified. Her grey hull livery looks beautiful and her lines are modern. The interior is very contemporary. We have loved owning her.
Unfortunately we have not sailed her as much as we wanted because of ill health in the family, so we have mostly sailed her in the Portuguese west coast, to Madeira and in the waters of the Algarve. We bought her when she was in France and cruised the waters of Spain and to the Balearics. Of course, her previous owner sailed to Alaska, Patagonia, the Pacific and onto New Zealand so she is more than capable for blue water.
ANNKA I is a solid and safe sailing yacht that maintains her course easily. On our way to Madeira we averaged over 10 knots, sailing at 11 knots for long periods and she was making 14.1 knots reaching at one point. In moderate to light winds we passage plan at 8.5 to 9 knots, and at these speeds she has a lovely, comfortable motion.
ANNKA I has 2 B&G autopilots, one electric and the other hydraulic and they don’t have to do much work at all when she is correctly trimmed. Her North 3Di Mainsail and genoa are fantastic.
In mild winds, she is expected to do 8.5/9 knots in absolute comfort of motion.
My kids love being aboard ANNKA I as there is lots of space and things to explore. My wife likes the owners’ stateroom where we have all the comforts of home. The galley is really practical and safe – we have no gas aboard, and it has so much space and storage that we have lots of kitchen equipment for easy cooking – just like home. The magnet system on the drawers, lockers, seats and so on means that nothing moves when sailing so we can go from marina to sailing mode easily.
For family sailing the interior is perfect as it is practical so no one is afraid of damaging and breaking things which makes for a much more relaxed life!
