The Mystic 60 is an iconic Frers’ design, which down the years has won hearts and minds the world over. They have family friendly interior layouts and a simple and practical deck layout. Unusually for the day, the centre cockpit is very large and livable. Of course, she also has a slippery hull shape and offers rewarding sailing performance. Built by Ta Shing in 1987, MATTERHORN is one of a sisterhood of nine yachts. Originally built as a charter yacht, she was purchased by her second owner who undertook a massive refit of the yacht at the Berthon Boat Company, including a new spacious owners’ cabin after. At that time all her systems were reviewed or replaced and she was re-decked, repainted and much more. At that time the main engine and generator were changed out.
In her current ownership, she has been skipper maintained and she has been updated throughout including a remodel of the forward cabin area, which works really well. She has Doyle Stratus sails that were built for her in 2018. Also on the list of upgrades and improvements include new electronics, new standing rigging, new fridge compressors, batteries and much, much more. She is gleaming and very ready to take her new owner sailing.
MATTERHORN has been priced to sell. She has been maintained to a high level and much improved in this ownership. Of course, as with any yacht, jobs can always be found and the need to constantly care for a 60 foot blue water yacht has been very much priced into the current asking price, on the basis of a straight forward sale.
MATTERHORN is a luxurious, well equipped 60-foot bluewater yacht equipped for cruising in the Caribbean or further afield should you wish. She was totally refitted at Berthon Boat Company in 2000/2001.
MATTERHORN was exhibited at Southampton Boat Show in 1994 and Amsterdam in 1995, she is the second yacht to be built to the design of German Frers. After her refit she was cruised her in the Caribbean with family and friends then cruised in the Solent, west country and France.
MATTERHORN has exceeded all our expectations in terms of her performance under sail and she is a joy to sail. We have enjoyed relaxed family cruising aboard her and have also sailed her in some local regattas and event like the Round the Island which have been rewarding and great fun.
MATTERHORN has been professionally maintained in our ownership and by her previous owners and has been considerably updated since the Berthon refit. She has been a long passion and she will be sorely missed, but on to the next project for us!
We are happy to share our skipper’s suggested work list with potential buyers if this is helpful. He has been involved with MATTERHORN for 15 years and knows her better than anyone.
