EVRIKA is a striking S&S design, built by Nautor Swan in 1982, at the end of a series, that many believe delivered the best looking series yacht in the world. She is only in her third ownership. Built for an owner whose daughter campaigned her successfully on the regatta circuit for 2 years, before selling her to her second owner. He kept her for 25 years and used her in a purely cruising role. She sailed extensively in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean and is a very well-known yacht. Her current owner purchased her 5 years ago and she then underwent a major refit with the idea in mind that she would then offer 10 years of total reliability. The refit was light touch – she still has the original Baby Blake WCs except that they are rebuilt and brought into this century. The underwater profile has been peeled, re-laminated, epoxied and faired. The engineering has been rebuilt or replaced. Her interior is totally original and nothing has been done that would compromise this. It is a combination of chic and practicality. Every so often, a seriously special yacht comes to the brokerage market. This is one such yacht.

The HYS refit in 2012 saw a complete re-wiring and re-plumbing, and most of the equipment was either replaced or refurbished. Structurally, the biggest job was the complete replacement of the keelson, which will now be good for the next twenty years. Keel, decking, masts and deck equipment was all found to be sound, though five years later, the deck teak is now just about ready to be redone.
Rig survey Jan 2017 by FGK Sant Maarten, all masts and rigging “good”.
