An unbelievably accomplished Peter Thornycroft design, built to deal with commercial and military tasking requirements, the Nelson 34 is a hot knife through butter in a seaway. Massive constructed by Tylers of Tonbridge, this hull was completed by them in 1986 and fitted out as a private yacht. Re-engined in 2006 with a beautiful new pair of deep-blue Mermaids, “French Franks” is a really nicely-presented, ready to use, late-commissioned Nelson 34.
Hyper-capable, 16 knots in the cruise, and a great exhaust noise. Seriously – one of the coolest boats I have been on in some time.
