Regina of Vindo are a Swedish boat builder who create fabulous deck saloon yachts under 50ft which can take you far and wide in safety and comfort. There are very few deck saloons out there, especially at around 40ft.
ARKYLA has been built to a very high standard and beautifully cared for by her owner. She has been lightly used for cruising the West Country and the Med and regularly stored ashore when not in use.
She has a fantastic raised saloon allowing her to be sailed with ease and comfort in any weather and enjoy the view while at anchor somewhere slightly chilly. She has two en-suite cabins at either end of her so there is no stepping on each other’s toes. Lots of clever features and storage a plenty. Many recent upgrades this year leave her in sparkling ready to sail condition.
She was exhibited at the Southampton boat show in 2008 and bought by a previous owner. She was hardly used and put up for sale late in 2009 – when I purchased her.
I picked her up from Poole in April 2010 and sailed her to Brittany where we kept her for four seasons, initially in La Roche Bernard and subsequently in Port Crouesty. She was wintered ashore in Arzal. I brought her back to UK (River Yealm) at the end of the season in 2013 – wintered ashore at Yachthaven – and in 2015, after some works to adapt her for the Mediterranean, sailed her down to Split and later up to Monfalcone for the winter ashore.
In 2016 we sailed her down to Dubrovnik where she was based for two years, being lifted in and out for the months of June and September when we spent time sailing the islands. At the end of last year we concluded we should probably call it a day so I brought the boat up to Port St Louis du Rhone in late May/early June for onward road transportation to Plymouth. After various works preparing her for sale, she is now back on the Yealm.
We sailed many times as a couple and also with friends as she is ideally suited to two couples. She has always attracted positive attention wherever she has been from both sailors and marina staff”.
