SPIRIT OF RANI was designed by Sean McMillan and built beautifully by Spirit Yachts in the UK. The brief was to produce a yacht with a deck saloon that worked and looked in scale, and one which could both regatta successfully and be sailed by the owner and his family. Spirit Yachts delivered and this remarkable yacht is now offered for sale in sparkling condition.
Her classic good looks belie her modern hull lines and a method of construction which takes advantage of modern technology yet using beautiful natural timber. She is a 21st century yacht with more than a passing nod to an
altogether gentler age.
SPIRIT OF RANI is offered for sale in sparkling condition. Using modern varnish coatings and quality materials she is much easier to maintain and to keep looking fabulous than you might thing.
I always wanted to have a classic looking sailing yacht, but with the performance and comfort of a new and modern example. Only very few shipyards were able to offer such a type of yacht, and Spirit Yachts were able to design a deckhouse concept for me, and offer the supreme quality of work I was looking for.
The plan was to do some extensive sailing in the Caribbean with my wife (short-handed), which we did for 3 seasons. Thereafter we brought SPIRIT OF RANI back to Europe. We decided to settle her in Sardinia as we find the weather conditions, and the offered lifestyle, best in Europe.
However, for just sailing around the northern part of Sardinia, and the southern part of Corsica for a few weeks in the year, instead of months, we decided to change for a smaller day cruiser.
With a bleeding heart I have decided to offer her for sale…
The right new owner should appreciate the first class quality build, beauty and ease of handling, as well as the great performance.
Proof of this are the various 1-3 positions in various regattas in the Caribbean.
The yacht is designed in such a way, that 1 person can sail and handle her without any problems, which I have done on many trips. The Mahogany hull is an eye-catcher and receives continuous appreciates from most sailing enthusiasts.
