The 29 Coho’s legendary build quality and exceptional handling characteristics on the water have made her an ideal choice for many. With simple, pure boating as a given – the Coho is blindingly good to drive and a worthy offshoot of the 28 Ghibli. Exceptional balance, lithe steering and rugged strength make this a hull to really slice through the water, for fast passage-making through tougher conditions. Designed by Hans J Johnsen, believe me, this hull will stay planted, dry and comfortable when much bigger boats are struggling.
The 29 has a full-width cockpit (access forward is through the central windscreen section) with adjustable and bolstered helm seat bolstered navigators seats forward, a central seating section, and then a huge aft sunpad which sits on top of the powered engine bay hatch. Of course – she is also stunning to look at.
Below decks, there is a neat galley to port, with a sink, diesel hob (so there is no gas on board – or any need to be on shore power to cook) and preparation surface. Facing the galley is a separate heads compartment with a manual wc and a sink. The forward saloon is a large double berth. There is plenty of light and ventilation, and all surfaces are properly trimmed (as you should expect) with top quality materials to make your time on board as comfortable and relaxed as is possible.
Her machinery space is easy to work in, with plenty of space and easy access to main service items, with a central lazarette space and storage under the side seating for general cruising kit. In short, the 29 Coho is highly versatile, sea-sure, practical and fun. Why wouldn’t you?
Just fully serviced, polished, waxed and antifouled – with new anodes for the summer!
