Berthon Lymington Marina acquisition of Versadock (MIPLtd)

Lymington Marina Ltd, a subsidiary company of Berthon Boat Co Ltd, is pleased to announce it has acquired Marine IP Ltd, which trades under the name of VersaDock, a worldwide leader in modular docks and floating pontoons.

“VersaDock designs and creates cutting edge and innovative modular floating pontoons for many types of use around the world with space, time and cost efficiency in mind. Our versatile docks are suitable for motor boats, RIBs, and jetskis, and as civil engineering work platforms” commented Jamie Hooper, head of design and sales at Versadock. He continued: “we are delighted to become part of the Berthon group of companies which is well respected in both the commercial and leisure marine market in the UK. Berthon’s wide experience should help us and I look forward to building the business up under the new ownership. We also represent Jetdock, the pre-eminent air-assisted floating docks.”

Brian May, managing director of Berthon & Lymington Marina added: “I look forward to further developing this well know brand with Jamie Hooper and his VersaDock team. This is a good addition to our expanding product range, which this year has included taking on dealerships for Iguana amphibious boats, Pearl motor yachts and Gemini RIBs.

Berthon was established in 1877 and is based in Lymington, UK. It celebrated its 100^th anniversary of May family ownership in 2017. It has 130 employees including 30 apprentices, offering commercial new builds, marine services, yacht maintenance, repairs & refits, along with its own marina and a renowned yacht brokerage and new boat sales team, with sales offices in the UK, Scandinavia, Spain and the USA.
