Upcoming events in the marina
March 1st, 2023
Life Jacket Clinic
With the new season just around the corner, the marina is in full swing, preparing for all the fantastic events we have planned this year. Starting in April, we will be hosting our joint Life Jacket Clinic with the RNLI and Lymington Yachtmail chandlery. We all know the importance of wearing a life jacket, but do we know how to check them? According to the RNLI, last year, 50% of life jackets checked at the various clinics they held across the south coast were faulty. Events like this can help save lives, so come to the marina on Saturday, April 8th, from 10 am to learn how to check your lifejacket correctly.
As this also falls at Easter, berth holders can enjoy a bacon roll and coffee on us to properly see in the start of the season and catch up with friends you haven’t seen over the winter months.
Blackbutter buoys
In other news, the Blackbutter boys are back! They’re currently setting up their food prep area, readying themselves for the warmer months. This season will see delicious food and service with a smile from the team, both of which we can’t wait for. Keep an eye on our social media pages to find out when they will be open for business.
Sunday afternoon live music
There will be live music at The B Bar on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer months. Last year these live sessions were a lovely way to chill on a Sunday afternoon – further details will be available on our social media channels.
World Cruising Club ARC Bluewater weekend
June 10th sees the return of the World Cruising Club ARC Bluewater weekend. Having moved online for the past three years due to COVID, everyone is delighted to be able to meet in person again. This will be a day of talking about world cruising with like-minded individuals as well as looking at and discussing kit that might be required for such a journey and tours of Berthon.
UKOPRA powerboat race
Then before you know it, it will be July and what better way to enter a new month than with the UKOPRA powerboat race? On the second weekend of July, Berthon will host approximately 35 boats, ranging from 15 to 45ft. For all of us powerboat fanatics, it will be an impressive display and an incredible race to watch. It will be a fantastic event for Berthon and the town of Lymington. With such a solid start to the month, it’s only fitting to end just as well with our first of three Music on the Marina events. On July 22nd, Berthon invites all our Berth holders for an evening of live music, good food and plenty of dancing. Now being our fourth year running, we know how enjoyable these evenings are and hope for nothing shy of a fabulous night.
Music on the Marina
Following our first Music on the Marina event will be the second, on Saturday 5th August. Confirmed band BB3 have an extensive repertoire, smooth sound and energetic stage presence. Undoubtedly, the drinks will be flowing, and hips will be swaying. For our third and final Music on the Marina of 2023, The Cardinals will return on Saturday 26th August, after being a roaring success the previous year. It will be a night to remember and the perfect way to finish another fantastic season at Berthon.
