Highly motivated & experienced person who will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing items for the Project Managers within Berthon’s Yacht Maintenance & Repair office, along with maintaining stock levels of consumable items in our stores.


This is a key role within Berthon, a stable employer providing a long-term career opportunity. Based in Lymington on our 10 acre site and 8 acres of the river.


  • Maintaining stock levels for consumable items for the whole business, using forecasting workbench in the ERP system
  • Sourcing & purchasing job specific items
  • Purchasing kits of parts
  • Sourcing & purchasing tools and equipment
  • Arranging subcontractors
  • Maintaining good supplier relationships & negotiating pricing levels
  • Stock checking fast moving items
  • Arranging transport for overseas purchases along with customs clearance
  • Updating supplier pricing schedules on the ERP system
  • Working closely with the Project Managers & Accounts / Bought Ledger

General Tasks:

  • Covering admin support during busy times and absences
  • Assisting other departments when needed


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a purchasing role
  • Excellent oral & written English
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good understanding of ERP systems (Epicor is an advantage)
  • Microsoft Outlook & Office

Reports to: Yacht Maintenance and Repair Manager


Full time office based in Lymington

Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
