At Berthon, you’ll work as part of a highly skilled team with the finest materials and facilities. We strive to build a family feel amongst our team and to provide the flexibility, training, benefits, and support that you need to perform at your best, whilst enjoying and taking pride in the work you do.
We are creating a new management position to lead and expand our yacht rigging services, managing our busy boat lifting and launching, and dredging operations. Administrative support is provided by our office team, allowing this role to focus primarily on customer interaction, technical oversight, operational management, and leadership of the teams involved.
Working within the existing management team, the role will include providing technical direction and decision-making, following up enquiries from customers, liaising with manufacturers regarding specifications, viewing boats to draw up technical specification, costing labour and materials, quoting customers, following up to obtain signed orders & deposit payments, and scheduling work. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong marine technical knowledge and the ability to coordinate and direct operational teams.
With an increased demand for our services, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our long-standing projects office in Lymington, with a proven track record in a similar role.
You will be managing production, refits, and in service support of boats 20’ – 80’ for Berthon’s wide range of commercial customers, including port authorities, MoD, Border Force, fisheries, sail training and survey organisations. This may include both sailing and motorboats.
You will be providing important project administration and support to Berthon’s busy boat production and refit project office.
The department is responsible for managing production, refits, and in service support of boats for Berthon’s wide range of commercial customers, and we require the support of an experienced assistant to aid the administration and coordination of the day-to-day activities of the office, and its multiple projects.
Berthon has a long history of training apprentices and supporting the development of marine apprenticeships across the maritime industry. As an apprentice at Berthon, you will get the opportunity to benefit from a national and international award-winning apprenticeship programme that will aid your progression, and enable you to advance in your career.
