Woodwork

Berthon boasts extensive expertise in woodworking, backed by years of experience. Our skilled craftsmen excel in various aspects of woodwork, including joinery, wood lamination, re-planking, steam bending, teak deck replacement, as well as deck maintenance. From fine detailing to structural restoration, Berthon’s mastery of woodwork shines through in every project.

Refits

Refits come in many shapes and forms and have a wide variety of tasks involved. Our shipwright’s part to play in a refit is very broad, from structural work, interior modifications, cladding, and removing and repairing skin fittings as well as general fittings, to name but a few.  

Moficiaitons

Berthon’s shipwrights offer versatile modifications, including services such as fitting extras like davits, tender chocks, life rafts and more. Their capability ensures boats are customised to meet specific needs, enhancing functionality and safety while delivering peace of mind to boat owners.

Further tasks you will find our shipwrights doing consist of finding and repairing leaks, and assisting our other trade teams, for example cutting holes for the electricians to install new electronics, or laminating before the painters apply their first coat.   

Deck replacement

At Berthon we carry out all the work required in teak deck repair or replacement, along with all deck maintenance for boats up to 120 tonnes. We also carry out remedial work on teak decks for small cruising boats including scarfing repairs and caulking repairs.
