The Role

We are looking for Marine Engineers to join our highly skilled team, and their apprentices, on refit projects in our modern purpose-built facilities to service the needs of our marina client base by working on a range of sailing and motor yachts as well as maintaining our own company vessels.

Requirements

The following attributes are essential for this role:

  • Recognised marine engineering apprenticeship
  • Experienced on a range of marine diesel engines, ancillary equipment, and propulsion systems
  • Ability to recognise and diagnose system faults
  • Strong mechanical fitting skills
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Reliable
  • Motivated
  • Ability to work unsupervised to exacting standards
  • Proven Marine industry track record

The following attributes are desirable for this role:

  • Good working knowledge of Volvo Penta, Yanmar, and Cummins Marine diesel engines
  • Fabricating in S/S and Aluminium
  • Good working knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Good working knowledge of electronic engines

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • High standard of metal fabrication skills and knowledge of hydraulics
  • High standard of plumbing and gas knowledge
  • Ability to operate machinery and hand tools correctly in a safe manner
  • Good understanding of marine technologies
  • Ability to work on own initiative and also plan work with other trades
  • Practical problem-solving abilities with a high standard of finish
