Junior Project Manager

Berthon Boat Co Ltd is a family business located in the desirable town of Lymington between the Solent and the New Forest. Amongst a diverse range of activities, Berthon undertakes a number of new construction, rebuild and refit projects in both the commercial and yacht sectors. With a long order book we are now looking to expand our experienced project team with the appointment of a Junior Project Manager; the position would ideally suit a newly qualified graduate or an enthusiastic junior manager looking for a new challenge.

The Job

Junior Project Manager

Knowledge and skills;

• Good solid marine technical knowledge
• Effective verbal and written communicator
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• An interest in boating would be a distinct advantage

Reports to;

Project Manager

Duties and responsibilities;

• Prepare project plans at both high and detailed level
• Define work instructions and prepare contract paperwork
• Define labour requirements, schedule work and deploy labour effectively
• Define material requirements and work with procurement staff to ensure timely delivery
• Monitor and control progress against plan to ensure timely completion
• Record and act upon quality issues and prepare rework plans
• Monitor and control costs to ensure profitability
• Provide detailed management reports
• Carry out tests and sea trials
• Prepare invoices and claims for payment
• Maintain accurate up to date records
• Further duties as may be determined for the effective and efficient running of the company
