The Role
We are looking for Marine Engineers to join our highly skilled team, and their apprentices, on refit projects in our modern purpose-built facilities to service the needs of our marina client base by working on a range of sailing and motor yachts as well as maintaining our own company vessels.
Requirements
The following attributes are essential for this role:
- Recognised marine engineering apprenticeship
- Experienced on a range of marine diesel engines, ancillary equipment, and propulsion systems
- Ability to recognise and diagnose system faults
- Strong mechanical fitting skills
- Excellent eye for detail
- Reliable
- Motivated
- Ability to work unsupervised to exacting standards
- Proven Marine industry track record
The following attributes are desirable for this role:
- Good working knowledge of Volvo Penta, Yanmar, and Cummins Marine diesel engines
- Fabricating in S/S and Aluminium
- Good working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Good working knowledge of electronic engines
Responsibilities
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- High standard of metal fabrication skills and knowledge of hydraulics
- High standard of plumbing and gas knowledge
- Ability to operate machinery and hand tools correctly in a safe manner
- Good understanding of marine technologies
- Ability to work on own initiative and also plan work with other trades
- Practical problem-solving abilities with a high standard of finish
